CIVICA aims to have an impact on society beyond academia. Actions require attention to the local context, clear objectives, and coordinated activities.
Amazing guest lecturers from all over the world are eager and willing to share their ideas, experiences and best practices with SNSPA students.
The National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, Faculty of Public Administration, organize the 8th edition of the Smart Cities International Conference, which will be held online on December 3-4, 2020.
European identity is a fundamental concept for the social sciences and one of the most discussed topics at policymaker level as well as citizen level. We aimed to find out what is the current view on European identity at the top of the EU. We talked to Dr. Victor Negrescu, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Culture and Education, European Parliament, and Lecturer and former Vice-Rector at SNSPA.
The CIVICA alliance, of which CEU is a founding member, welcomes the decision of the European Court, which reaffirms the EU’s commitment to academic freedom in Europe.
What does internationalisation mean in the CIVICA context? Why is internationalisation a core concept for the alliance? What are the challenges that internationalisation raises for our network of social science universities? To find answers to these questions, we interviewed Diana Iancu, Dean of the Faculty of Public Administration, SNSPA, and member of the CIVICA Management Team on behalf of SNSPA.
SNSPA, together with the West University of Timișoara, with the backing of other major universities, academics and researchers from Romania and around the world – gathering an impressive number of 885 supporters – submitted to the Romanian Constitutional Court a legal point of view, a “friend of the court”, Amicus Curiae, in relation to the modified Law of education which forbids institutions to discuss gender issues.
Alexandra Ioan is an alumna of two universities in the CIVICA alliance: SNSPA in Romania, where she completed her BA studies, and the Hertie School in Germany, where she completed an MPP and a PhD.
CIVICA – The European University of Social Sciences has received funding to strengthen its research dimension from the EU’s programme Horizon 2020, under the chapter “Science with and for Society.”
By joining forces with LSE’s community, CIVICA currently connects 50,000 students and 10,000 faculty members across Europe.
