Bringing together students from Hertie School, IE University, and SNSPA to work in small interdisciplinary teams on AI policy challenges at the heart of Europe’s digital future. Over three days, participants will combine policy brief writing and solution prototyping to address themes such as:
- Data governance and cross‑border data sharing
- AI and democracy
- Algorithmic decision‑making in public services
Upon selection – participants will be matched with co-hackers from the other universities and participate in a 2-month long journey involving workshops to clearly define their challenge, work with political and civil society stakeholders to refine their solution and prepare their policy/prototype to hit the ground running for the three-day intensive in Berlin.
Key features:
- 21 students, 7 teams of 3 (one cross‑country team per theme)
- Mix of policy + tech profiles from across the three universities
- Mentoring and input from EU policy practitioners and experts in AI governance
- Finalists present to MEPs working on AI in a dedicated follow‑up session
Anyone with a keen interest in working on AI and Governance issues in the EU context is encouraged to apply. Prior experience or expertise in policy or prototyping is not required.
