First Edition of “The Bucharest Workshop in Mainline Political Economy”, organized by the Faculty of Public Administration (SNSPA)

From May 14-16, 2025, the Faculty of Public Administration at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration organizes the inaugural Bucharest Workshop in Mainline Political Economy. We invite scholars to be part of a workshop focused on exploring how the ideas in the MPE tradition are applied in public governance, commons management, political theory, and public policies.

The event will take place at the SNSPA headquarters in Bucharest (30A Expoziției Boulevard), 8th Floor, Room 804.

The workshop brings together scholars in the fields of public administration, political science, economics, or related disciplines. Participants will present works in the tradition of Friedrich Hayek, James Buchanan, Elinor Ostrom, or Vincent Ostrom, along with their theoretical or empirical applications to the broader field of public administration.

Designed to be an annual event, BWMPE spans three days, each featuring keynote lectures. Participants will present their work for 30 minutes, followed by a discussion and a Q&A session.
