The Center for Strategic Studies (CSS), founded in 2020, is a research unit within the Department of International Relations and European Integration and has as main objective the analysis and evaluation of the most relevant trends and challenges on the international scene. The mission of CSS is to produce materials of increased relevance for both scholars and policy makers. CSS Members, as well as students and associate researchers, contribute with their expertise to research and policy recommendations. CSS aims to expand its activity by organizing national and international conferences and by developing projects aimed at intensifying national and international exchange of expertise and at deepening knowledge in the field.
Head of CSS
Ioan Mircea Pașcu (PhD), head of CSS, is one of the founding members of the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration and is currently teaching at the same university. With a vast experience both in academia and politics (as former Minister of Defence and former Vice President of the European Parliament), professor Pașcu published numerous articles and books on topics related to international relations and European affairs.
