Rebeca Evelina Coman and Ioana Rad will represent the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) in CIVICA – The European University of Social Sciences, as CIVICA Ambassadors.
The two students will help foster links between SNSPA students and the CIVICA network. Their responsibilities will include joining the CIVICA Ambassadors Network as SNSPA representatives, serving as points of contact for students interested in CIVICA, promoting the network’s initiatives within the student community, and supporting the promotion of SNSPA events and programmes.
Rebeca Evelina Coman is a third-year student at SNSPA’s Faculty of Public Administration. Over the past year, she studied in Kaunas and Prague through the Erasmus+ programme. During the summer, she also worked with an association in France, where she planned and coordinated social activities for people aged between two and 60.
Her main interest is civic participation and its relationship with public administration, a subject she explored at the SMILES conference in Kaunas. She enjoys working with people from different backgrounds and communicating through writing, video and public speaking.
Rebeca has taken part in several CIVICA initiatives, including the European Week organised by SNSPA in Bucharest and the SustainabiliCITY competition, where she wrote a policy brief on climate-resilient cities and reached the second round. At the Student AI Summit, held at Sciences Po in Paris, she chaired the committee on responsibility and the governance of artificial intelligence in democratic societies. The committee’s recommendations were included in the summit’s final document.
As a CIVICA Ambassador, Rebeca hopes to introduce SNSPA students to the opportunities the network offers and encourage them to contribute actively to its initiatives.
Ioana Rad graduated in Security Studies from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Labour Studies at SNSPA’s Faculty of Political Science. She chose to combine these fields in order to gain a deeper understanding of contemporary geopolitical contexts and their vulnerabilities, with a particular focus on people, whom she regards as the most valuable resource in contemporary history.
She is interested in diversity, equality of opportunity and discovering other cultures. These interests have led her to take part in volunteering, Erasmus+ projects and courses. She describes herself as curious and empathetic, and determined to contribute to the change her generation is bringing about.
As a CIVICA Ambassador, Ioana hopes to promote CIVICA and the opportunities offered by the European network, so that SNSPA students can discover them and make the most of them.
