The Rector of the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), Professor Remus Pricopie, strongly condemns the attack on the former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
“The tragic event in Japan shocked the whole world. Verbal violence and physical violence are increasingly present in contemporary society and their use to resolve any type of differences, especially political ones, carries the risk of stirring us towards a very dangerous area, one of widespread confrontation, of national, regional, or even global insecurity. As an individual gesture or as an action undertaken by a state, armed violence must generate a firm reaction of rejection, condemnation, and solidarity, both from the national and the global community.
Shinzo Abe was a friend of Romania, a skilled political leader, and a promoter of democracy.
I would like to extend my condolences to the family of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and to the entire Japanese society and to express my hope that everyone will understand that violence is never the way to go, ”said Professor Remus Pricopie, the Rector of SNSPA.
