On September 6 and 7, 2023, Bucharest will host the Summit of the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) and the 3SI Business Forum, organized by the Romanian Presidential Administration and the Romanian Government, through the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
Thus, Romania becomes the first of the states participating in the Initiative to host these events for the second time, after the editions held in 2018, also in Bucharest.
The responsibility that Romania has assumed to host these annual events reflects once more the importance that our country attaches to regional cooperation and interconnection, to give continuity to the strategic projects established in 2018 and to ensure political support for the most feasible of them and for those that have the greatest impact on the region as a whole.
The business environment, companies and employees in the region have proven resilience to the overlapping crises of the last period, thus becoming some of the pillars of European resilience, especially in the context of the multiple and prolonged disruptions generated by Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
The challenge of the debates hosted this year in Bucharest under the auspices of the Three Seas Initiative is for representatives from member states and partner countries, together with invited investors, to look beyond the negative effects of conflicts, pandemics, crises generated by rising prices and supply chain disruptions, to find innovative ways to respond to new economic and geopolitical realities and growing investment needs.
The debates within the meetings and side events also provide participants with the opportunity occasion to explore investment and development opportunities in relation to economic realities and current strategic challenges.
