On 28th and 29th of March 2019, the Department of International Relations and European Integration of the National University of Political Science and Public Administration (SNSPA) of Bucharest will host the 2019 conference “The future of the EU development cooperation policy”. The conference comes in the context of the debates about the next Multiannual Financial Framework, the possible internalization of the European Fund for Development, the upcoming EU Strategic Agenda, the migration crisis and the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development Goals, as well as in the context of the 2019 Romanian EU Council Presidency.
The goal of the conference is to generate a debate on the future of the development cooperation policy at European level in the margins of the Romanian EU Council Presidency. Among the topics touched upon during the conference we are seeking to discuss about the impact of those policies, the role of the development communities, education for development or the relation between Trade and Development, with the goal of generating a constructive exchange of views and solutions for future cooperation.
In this regard, the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration seeks to invite a series of decision makers at EU level, members of the academia, representatives from the civil society, development professionals, but also students, in order to have a complete image of the importance of this policy at global level.
Moreover, we expect that this conference will become a starting point in the future initiative of the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration to launch an academic network in the field of development cooperation with other European universities.
