CIVICA’s thematic priority ‘Europe Revisited’ is interested in how the crises that the EU faces are changing, affecting or reinforcing its founding principles, rules, and narratives. Phenomena such as migratory flows, (dis)integration processes, the green transition, or globalisation lead to multiple societal, political, structural and economic challenges. One of the interesting questions is how these phenomena (and many other crisis that the EU has faced in the past) affect the domestic support for the EU and its future. The hackathon will be focused on these topics.
The Hackathon will open with an introduction to the dataset from Professor Kenneth Benoit of LSE’s Data Science Institute. The hackathon format will then be explained, with teams forming to work on analysis and visualisations related to the future of European integration and European politics. This will be followed by a talk from Dr Mareike Kleine.
Teams will submit their results by the middle of the second day, and then will be judged with a chance for the leading teams to present their work online. The hackathon will be a multi-site event, across the CIVICA network.
This event is open to students, researchers, academics and other interested citizens and professionals within and beyond the CIVICA alliance. The winners of the hackathon will receive prizes.
Expoziţia va putea fi vizitată la Muzeul Național al Țăranului Român, Sala Tancred Bănățeanu, până pe 29 noiembrie 2023, de miercuri până duminică, între orele 10:00-18:00
